By using techniques such as encaustic (beeswax and damar resin) as well as ice dye and eco dye on silk, I explore the tension between chance and control. This process of art making continually calls me to a place of surrender, trust and ultimately wonder, as I work with and harness the incidental. It is an intuitive process. By art making with natural materials, I am reminded of the mystery and flow of the world around us, as well as our attempts to make sense of, map out and contain it.
